The Central Team’s Rising Star Saves $80K Deal from Falling Through

If you’re familiar with the phrase ‘to hit the ground running,’ then you already know a little bit about Josh Guertler. It’s only been about three years since Josh’s first job out of college, which, fortunately for us, was within the Envoy Solutions family. He started as a temp-to-perm candidate in the Central Division, and after two promotions, is now a Packaging Category Team Lead working with employees across our national platform.

Earlier this year, Josh helped overcome a major supply chain issue. One of the West team’s sellers was just beginning to add packaging to his product offering, which could significantly boost sales in the future. However, the seller nearly lost an $80K deal with a top buying prospect, Coronado Distribution in San Diego.

The problem arose when Coronado’s needs changed, and the company required more frequent deliveries than what was originally negotiated with the supplier. As you’ve likely heard, there are current market challenges affecting the distribution process. With that said, the supplier initially declined Coronado’s new requirements.

However, despite those obstacles, Josh was able to bridge the gap between the two sides. With tenacity and strong negotiating skills, Josh convinced the supplier to commit to the amended agreement. Josh not only closed the big deal but throughout the process, he exemplified three of Envoy Solutions’ core values: collaboration, integrity, and agility.
